SevenThings is a record label and an online store for contemporary and experimental music.

We specialise in improvisation, modern classical, electroacoustic, art rock, music from the edges of jazz, and the wonderfully, weirdly undefined and indefinable; a madman´s pick of the unusual and adventurous from across the spectrum of musical endeavour.

We hand-pick everything on our site, and because we´re musicians ourselves we listen attentively to everything we put up here. We write our own profiles for every experimental artist and every recording on our site, and we pick featured artists and featured albums simply because we like to bring nice things to your attention.

The things that we love the most we sign to our own record label SevenThings, for which a special part of the site is carefully reserved. These small musical miracles come from the boundary-pushing genres under our purview – from new classical to free jazz, electronica through to free folk and on into radio art and the outer limits of electroacoustic manipulation.

How can we help you navigate these strange, uncharted seas? We´ve built many ways on the site to help you find contemporary music that stimulates your earwigs – from the tag clouds you´ll see on the right hand side to the suggestions for further listening beneath each artist´s profile. You can listen to our pop-up radio player – content changing every few days – or find inspiration in another fan´s playlist. And, for those who wish to have it all brought conveniently to their door, subscribe to receive a SevenThings hand–picked full–length album for download every month for the bargain fee of £35 / year.
